Welcome to the Show
(http://www.nursingshow.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Stressed-Student-headache-meningitis-e1389954595389-300x197.jpg)Well good day and welcome to this episode of the Nursing Show. I'm your host Jamie Davis. I'm looking forward to this week's show. There are several nursing and health news items including a look at how some hospitals may be expanding visiting hours for patients in an effort to improve patient quality scores and outcomes. Then in the tip of the week, we'll look at recent meningitis outbreaks on college and university campuses here in the U.S. and how nurses can encourage prevention and quick diagnosis in this week's tip of the week. That will be coming up later on in this episode.
Before we get to the news though, I'd like you to make sure you follow up on all of the information from this and every episode by heading over to NursingShow.com (http://NursingShow.com) and checking out the links in each episode's show notes. There are also other articles and links there to things like the free Nursing Show mobile app, student nurse tips and a whole lot more. Make sure you are following up so you know how what I talk about in the show each week is applied using your own nursing scope of practice.
If you want to get back in touch with me, please drop me an email. You can send those e-mails in to NursingShow@Gmail.com (mailto:nursingshow@gmail.com). I love to hear from you and I make sure I respond back to every email that comes in. Send me links to news items you'd like me to cover, interview suggestions with you or somebody you know.

Tip of the Week - Bacterial Meningitis Review
With colleges and Universities scheduled to start up their new semesters soon, I think it's a good time to look at the infectious nature of living in college dorms.
